RSO, or Rick Simpson Oil, is named after a Canadian cancer patient turned cannabis activist. RSO is sometimes referred to as a “whole plant” or “full spectrum” extract because it retains the full cannabinoid, terpene, and chlorophyll profile of the source material by using specific solvents.
RSO was originally created to be used as a topical. Rick Simpson applied this activated concentrate directly to areas of concern on his skin. Today, patients use RSO in a variety of ways, including topically, orally by itself or mixed with food, and sublingually.
